Hi everyone, I've seen this being used on a website and would love to use it on my new site. I clicked on the link under the module and it brings me to the download page on this site, but it's on it the downloads. Could anyone tell me how i can get hold of it please?
Its still kind of in development. The one site that you more than likely seen it on was the site I designed it for. I am still redoing things for them at this time. I have several modules like it that are in the plans for being finalized and released once we make a few decisions.
If your interested in something along the lines of what I got on CaseModGod let me know if there is something about it that you don't like. I will also need to know what version of nuke your wanting to run it on. The current build of it has been modified several times for CMG and will get a final build that is not identical to theirs, its built and running on 7.6 but will need modified quite a bit for the other versions. I have not tested it yet to see if we can make it work with 7.7. It uses WYSIWYG editors for the inputs fields (pages) and normal text inputs for most of the other options. I would also need to know if your wanting blocks for the main site as well.
The info that I am asking for might aid me in deciding what to go with on the release version.
I just finished up the reviews module that is shown there as well. I have several custom modules there that all got built in the same week. So I am going threw them one at a time to finalize them so that we can decide how we are going to release them and so forth.
So you will be releaseing more of the modules you used on the site? i'm using 7.6 and i don't think i'll be using the blocks. Also in the reviews part of casemodgod there is a catalog at the top of the reviews section, would did you do that? i'm making a review site you see and it would make things a lot easier for people to find what they are looking for.
I think it would be good if people could submit there logs then the admin could say if they get added in the admin panel if that's any good.
Yes we will be releasing the modules as we get them finalized. The ones you see being used on CaseModGod where originated for that site but will be released in one form or another. We did the complete CaseModGod site in about a months time, (theme, custom modules, and blocks). So we are going threw and pulling out some of the extra options we tossed in for them and will be releasing them.
The category system in the reviews module will be retained in the one we release. I also plan on adding it into the How-to module as well. We are discussing the releases of them as we go.
On the users submitting the work log and admins approving them side of it. That is something that we try to keep locked down. With these modules having the upload function built into them. We do not have them set to be submitted by users. We have these setup so that staff members have the rights to add and then the admin has to approve the work log. With the amount of attacks that come against nuke sites we feel keeping the upload options under staff access only is the safest way. If you want something so that normal users can add please feel free to email me and we can discuss the options.
it was just a thought, but on thinking about it your right about the uploads bit. I've got most of my site finshed, just waiting on the reviews modules (with the Categories), How-To (my the guides), work logs. Also i was wondering if you have a module that i could with my articles or would i be best using the work logs one and editing it a little?
i'm going to be putting articles on the site about computer stuff and i was wondering if you have a module that will let me add the articles to the site easy or do you think i'm best off using the work log module (once finish and editing it to fit my needs.
Well it depends on how big of an article your going to be working with. The worklogs module is capable of handling roughly 8 rather large pages of content. But not sure it would be ideal for that.
If you want work me up a sample article like what your going to be using and I can see what I can do. If your looking at one main input section or if your needing it a bit more complicated.
The worklogs, reviews, and how-to modules that I did are all similar in how they are coded and work in the same manor. They are just modified to fit each setup a little better.
The stock news submission modules might also be an option for your articles depending on what your wanting.
the articles will only be about 1 maybe two pages at a push. I'm not sure how to layout the main articles page (were the articles can be selected from). If i want one section were you can pick the aticle or break it up into who wrote it to list all the articles by that person (ie. Carl -> list of aticles)
