If your like me and hate it when Windows Messenger starts everytime you open Outlook Express. This hack will only disable Windows Messenger from autorunning when you start Outlook, It does not disable Windows messenger totally like most of the registry hacks out. You can still manually go to C:Program FilesMessenger and start the program.

Download the Disable XP Messenger Autorun and save it to your Hard Drive. Go to where you saved the file and execute it (double click on it). It will make the registry changes and when done will pop up a message saying "Windows Messenger will not autorun when Outlook Express is started." simply click OK to finish and close the popup.

If you choose to re-enable the autorun feature simply download the Enable XP Messenger Autorun and save it to your Hard Drive. Go to where you saved the file and execute it (double click on it). It will make the registry changes and when done will pop up a message saying "Windows Messenger will now autorun when Outlook Express is started." simply click OK to finish and close the popup.
