Installation: The first thing you will need to do is download the file: http://www.coverxp.com/main.asp?page=download.asp
There are two choices on the page one for the 21 day evaluation and one for the free version. I chose the free version to download and install.
The install is straight forward open the file you downloaded and tell it where you want it to be installed and continue.
Once installed you will have four links in the start menu. One to start CoverXp, one for help, one for removal of CoverXp, & one for support that takes you to there web site.
Observation: Starting CoverXp is easy simply go down to start menu and choose the CoverXp folder and then the CoverXp file.

CoverXP come with two skins in the free version as seen here.

Next you will need to choose the type of cover you ar wanting to create DVD, CD or VHS.

The two screens are for different layouts one front and one back. Since I will be doing a DVD cover I will only be using the left screen since the front and back are on the same cover. Right clicking on the blank space brings up the screen to choose a picture.

Find the picture you want to use and press the load button to load your picture into the blank space. Next you can preview the print layout or print the cover.

I haven’t had to adjust the margins using the DVD cover layout since they fit nicely on standard paper.
Conclusion: CoverXp's free version is nice for making DVD and CD covers.
CoverXp is easy to use without modifying any of the setting however there are extra settings for adjustments to be made.
For $19.95 you can upgrade to the registered version and do away with the ads.
The Good: Easy to use.
It’s Free.
Produces nice Covers.
The Bad: Comes with ads
Score: 7
