What do you need before you begin?
OK, I've got the Nuke***.tar.gz file, what now?
Setting Up the SQL Database
Setting up Config.php
The Last Step

What do you need before you begin?

You will need a web host that will give you both PHP Support and a MySQL database. Alternatively, if you just want to play around with it, or have a high-speed internet link, then you can host it yourself. You will also need the nuke***.tar.gz file (*** is in place of Nuke version)

If you’re going to be hosting the site yourself, then the following links might become useful. Also, if you're hosting yourself, you will need an SMTP server running on your machine

http://www.apache.org  Apache Server web site
http://www.php.net  PHP Server web site
http://www.mysql.com  MySQL server web site

http://www.cnet.com  Web site to get a free SMTP server from
You will also need phpMyAdmin in order to manage the SQL database. Some web hosts supply this as part of the web site package, if not, then it’s available to download from http://www.phpmyadmin.net.

An SQL server is the place that PHP-Nuke stores all it's information that changes, like configuration settings, news articles, polls and much more
